Collaboration with the designer fashion brand D.EFECT.
The collection ‘Beauty of Imperfection’ is inspired by everyday life and the digital world that surrounds us. This season, prints created by Taiwanese-born, Berlin-based artist Jennis Li Cheng Tien have been used. The creative process was deeply influenced by her series “Have A Nice Day.” Random portraits of people sourced from the internet are taken by Jennis, and digital manipulation is used to make those images completely unrecognizable. This idea serves as a reflection, as perfecting images or personalities in the public eye is something everyone can be blamed for, risking individuality and becoming identical.
The roots of D.EFECT are revisited: embracing #TheBeautyOfImperfection. Many of those imperfections can be found in the collection if closely observed: misplaced buttons, cut-out details that look like rips, exaggerated sleeves, and asymmetrical lengths. These little imperfections are found to be truly beautiful.
